We are however, a registered charity, and often act as an intermediary with Government departments regarding resolutions debated at the Annual Conference. This is how we get laws changed for the better.

In the past we’ve influenced legislation in many areas including Care Standards, Consumer Rights and Education. For more about our current activity see our Campaigns page.

Our central office is in Romford, from where we send information to our members and provide an advisory service. Each club is self- governing, choosing its own officers, meeting times and places. National events include: An Annual Conference, Carol Concert, One Day Workshops and Weekends at various venues.
