Pat Blair MBE JP

Promotional Officer for the North

Pat Blair, joined the NAWC Club in West Derby in 1969 following a brief spell in Canada where her husband had been working. Born and brought up in Liverpool Pat held a number of roles in industry including coding some of the first computers to be used in this part of the country.

After a few years with the club she took on the role of Voluntary Promotional Officer in 1981. Over the years she has held a number of posts in the NAWC including Chairman of the Liverpool Association, Chairman of the West Derby Club and is currently the Chair of the North West Promotional Team.

Pat has said that throughout the topsy-turvy times that we all experience from time to time the clubs has always been a welcome haven where she has cherished the friendships and support they offer all.

Pat remains busy supporting the NAWC by, amongst other things, organising weekends away and short breaks for club members. In addition, she is also actively involved in Knowsley Older People’s Voice and Knowsley Council Engagement Forum. Pat was awarded the MBE in 2014 for her contribution to NAWC and for her work in the wider community.

To all members

Today is one of the saddest days that we will ever experience with the death of our beloved Queen.

For most of us she has always been a part of lives, she has been constant and steadfast in her role as monarch, never putting a foot wrong.

Her life was dedicated to us and she will be greatly missed by us all.

On behalf of The National Association of Women’s Clubs we send our condolences to her family.
